Job summary

Reporting to the Electrical Manager, the Instrumentation & Control Technician is responsible for maintaining, modifying and calibrating BMS and CMMS systems, maintaining and calibrating instruments and equipment of the various electrical systems at the Lévis site. 

You contribute to the operations of maintenance, continuous improvement and maintenance of other systems and equipment under the responsibility of your supervisor.

You collaborate with other trades, in particular for the electrical and electromechanical maintenance part.

Responsibilities and duties
  • Provide technical support for operations
  • Maintain the fleet of equipment and utility systems, i.e. electrical and electronic maintenance and instrument calibration
  • Perform modifications and maintenance of the site's BMS
  • Write and revise procedures
  • Perform validation of control systems
  • Participate in equipment improvement projects
  • Diagnose and support the team during malfunctions and participate in identifying innovative solutions
  • Keep abreast of technological developments
  • Participates in the management of building projects
  • Perform various installation or modification work
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards
  • Ensure quality requirements and standards, as well as compliance with applicable laws and regulations for equipment
  • Perform any other task deemed compatible with its function
  • Participate in improving energy efficiency, protection and operation of systems, quality and optimization of operations
  • Document and follow up on malfunctions
Qualifications and skills
  • DEP or DEC in instrumentation and automation or industrial electronics or experienced electrician with skills in instrumentation and control;
  • 2 years minimum of experience
  • Knowledge of Ignition software (asset)
  • Knowledge of electricity (asset)
  • Strong ability to learn and transmit knowledge
  • Fluency in spoken and written French, English an asset
  • Ability to read plans, instruction manuals and operating diagrams
  • Ability to operate control and automation systems
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to work with a CMMS system (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
  • Experience in the industrial sector
  • Be versatile and autonomous in your work
  • Have a good team spirit
  • Be curious and have the desire to train in their field and in related trades
  • Have a good sense of observation and analytical skills
  • Demonstrate rigor and thoroughness in the execution of the work
  • Passionate about computers and programming
